Resize (Decrease Resolution) Of Pics in Ubuntu Through Terminal

Steps :-

1) Open Terminal By Pressing Ctrl+Alt+T.

2) We have to install imagemagick By :-

sudo apt-get install imagemagick

2) Now After Install Complete

This command mogrify overwrites the original files with the resized images :-

(A) To Resize “PNG” By This :-

mogrify -resize 50% *png                      # keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize 320×240 *png                # keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize 320×240! *png              # don’t keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize x240 *png                     # don’t keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize 320x *png                     # don’t keep image aspect ratio

(B) To Resize “JPG” By This :-

mogrify -resize 50% *jpg                      # keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize 320×240*jpg                 # keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize 320×240!*jpg               # don’t keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize x240*jpg                      # don’t keep image aspect ratio
mogrify -resize 320x*jpg                      # don’t keep image aspect ratio
